Inpatient information
If you are scheduled for an inpatient procedure, you may need to pre-register with the hospital in advance. If you have a living will or advance directive, bring a copy of those documents to be placed in your patient file. You will be given instructions for arrival and where to report for hospital admission on the day of your surgery. Be sure to bring your insurance information, valid identification, and any medications that you are currently taking. You will also need personal items like night clothes, loose daytime clothing, slippers, toiletries, and any convenience items you may prefer, such as books or an mp3 player. Please leave all valuables at home.
Keep in mind that very hospital has different policies about visitors and relatives staying overnight. Please contact the hospital in advance with any questions you may have concerning visitation.
Outpatient information
If you are scheduled for an outpatient appointment, you may need to pre-register with the hospital in advance or otherwise arrive early on the day of your procedure. You will be given instructions for arrival and where to report for admission on the day of your appointment. Be sure to bring your insurance information, valid identification, and any medications that you are currently taking. Also, please plan to arrive early on the day of your procedure. We ask that you arrive wearing loose-fitting clothing that you can wear home after you are discharged. Depending on the type of treatment or testing you undergo, you may also need to make arrangements to have someone take you home.
