Dr. Ozgur Wins 2016 Super Doctors Award
Selected for SuperDoctors® 2016 for Neurosurgery for the 4th consecutive year — published in Los Angeles Magazine's January 2016 issue.
Los Angeles, California — Southern California Neurosurgeon Burak Ozgur, MD — one of the founders of ONE® Brain & Spine Center® and widely recognized as a leader in minimally invasive spine surgery — has been named for the fourth year in a row to the Super Doctors® 2016 for Neurosurgery list, published in Los Angeles Magazine's January 2016 issue.
“It is always a great honor to be named to the SuperDoctors® List and even a greater honor for my achievements to be recognized by my fellow physicians,” said Dr. Ozgur.
With several years of experience in the field of neurosurgery, Dr. Ozgur has earned a highly respected reputation for his specialization in minimally invasive spine surgery and the compassionate care he provides every patient. He has helped thousands of patients from all over the U.S. and abroad who suffer from debilitating spine injuries and degenerative conditions — chronic back pain, neck pain, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, myelopathy and other degenerative disc disease.
Dr. Ozgur also credited his team: “This series of SuperDoctors® awards would not have been possible without the support of my team, and we are all committed to providing our patients with pain relief with the least invasive procedures, using the most advanced equipment and technology available.”
The Super Doctors® honor is bestowed on only five percent of the country's 870,000 active physicians. Dr. Ozgur has been practicing neurosurgery for over a decade and is affiliated with Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, a leading Orange County hospital.
SuperDoctors® Survey.
In the annual selection for the Super Doctors® list, MSP Communications — a leading research company and publisher of Super Doctors® — conducts independent research and a thorough multi-step process designed to identify physicians who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in both less visible and highly specialized medical treatment areas.
The Super Doctors award is given annually to only five percent of practicing physicians. Selection is based on strict criteria and key indicators: years of experience, hospital appointments, fellowship training, professional activities, leadership positions, academic achievements, board certifications, publications and lectures, honors, and other outstanding achievement.
MSP Communications creates a pool of candidates and invites doctors to nominate colleagues they know to be exceptional in their specified field. Numerous safeguards are in place to prevent ballot manipulation, and doctors may not self-nominate. Nominees are grouped into specialties and regions. Candidates are also found by searching medical databases, online sources, and publications for doctors who have attained certain credentials.
